Jacqueline I. "Jackie" Pitts, aged 87, of Saginaw, MI (formerly of Evergreen, Alabama), passed away peacefully on March 3, 2025. Born on June 17, 1937, in Lansing, Michigan, to her loving parents Clifford and Florence Mallery, who preceded her in death. Jackie lived a life marked by creativity, devotion, and the joy of family and friends.
Jackie married the love of her life, Levon Pitts, on February 19, 1959. He predeceased her, leaving a legacy of love that continued to flourish through their family. She will be forever missed by her stepsons, Michael (Anna) Pitts of Birch Run, MI and John (Barbara) Pitts of Saginaw, MI. Her spirit will live on in the hearts of her grandchildren, Nathan Pitts of New Orleans, LA, Lydia (Ryan) Simpkins of Evergreen, AL, Melissa (TJ) Carswell of Chicago, IL and Adam Pitts of Saginaw, MI as well as her great-grandchildren, Colt and Saige Simpkins of Evergreen, AL.
Jackie is also survived by her brother-in-law, Colonial (Susan) Pitts of Evergreen, AL and several nieces and nephews, who, along with the rest of the family, will miss her dearly.
Jackie was preceded in death by two sisters, Dolores (John) Forrester and Bernice (Jaimee) Wethers.
Jackie attended Baker Business University in Flint, MI. She retired as an Executive Secretary from GM Parts in Flint, MI and then retired from Alabama River Pulp in Monroe County, AL.
Jackie was known for her unwavering faith and the beautiful music she created as the pianist at her local church. Her passion for the arts extended beyond music, as she was also a talented poet. Jackie published two poetry books that touched the lives of many, weaving words that resonated with the human experience and the beauty of the natural world. Jackie’s life was a tapestry of joyful moments, woven together by her passion for family and the beautiful memories captured in the countless photos and home movies she treasured.
As we bid farewell to Jacqueline I. Pitts, we celebrate a life beautifully lived and a journey completed with dignity and peace. We take solace in knowing that she has been reunited with her beloved husband, parents, and sisters and that her legacy will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to have been touched by her presence.
