Obituary of Kathy Lorene Ark
Please share a memory of Kathy to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Kathy Lorene Ark, 62 of Mayville, Michigan left the bounds of this Earth and into the arms of Jesus Christ on February 4, 2025 in Essexville, Michigan, after a 2 year battle with dementia. She was born on September 15, 1962 in Saginaw, MI. to Wilfred and Hazel Bissell who proceeded her in death along with her brothers Fred and Kevin Bissell and nephew Kevin Howse. Kathy graduated from Millington High School and also attended Detroit College of Business and Mott Community College. She had multiple vocations of service including Frankenmuth Bavarian Inn, Bronner's CHRISTmas Wonderland, Re-Max Insurance, Farm Bureau Insurance, Retail Sales and was a Bus Driver for Millington Community Schools. Kathy was a long- time member of Living Waters Chapel in Caro, Michigan serving as a Sunday School Teacher, Greeter, Usher and on the Board of Elders. She was a member of the Tuscola County Sheriff's Mounted Division for 7 years serving as Treasurer and President. She had a life-long love of horses and was a true "cowgirl" with every fiber of her being. Kathy also enjoyed cooking, quilting, sewing, knitting and gardening. Kathy possessed an unwavering faith in our Lord Jesus Christ and the resurrection power he gives to anyone who believes and keeps his commandments, where we shall meet her again in the glory of our Father's kingdom. In marriage, Kathy was a partner to her beloved husband, James Christopher Ark for 41 years, a love story that is a testament to the sacred vow of "till death do us part" and he has always considered it an honor as well as a privilege to be joined to her.
Besides her husband, Kathy is survived by her sister Lorie and Pat Donnelly, brother-in-law Brian and Ren Harris, along with nephews Randy and Stefanie Ark and Jim and Tiffany Howse, nieces Kristen Ark, Michelle Jackson and Amy Hyde, Aunts Stella Smeaton and Marsha Loughlin, uncle Dan Greer and numerous cousins. Let us remember Kathy as the loving, faith-filled and friendly soul that she was, whose presence was like a gentle, reassuring hug to all who were blessed to know her. The spark of her spirit warmed the hearts of everyone she encountered. Though Kathy was called home sooner than we wished, her spirit remains undiminished, a beacon that continues to shine in the lives she touched. Her journey on earth concluded in Essexville, but her story echoes in eternity. Dear friends, as we say our earthly goodbyes, mourn and cry if you must, but only for a short season. Carry the knowledge in our hearts as a reminder of Kathy's beautiful life of dedication to service, family and the Lord. Her legacy is one of joy and her memory a blessing. Her life's work is now complete and she reaps the rewards of a faithful servant.
